Housing
We'd like to help you find housing while in Chicago. I know most of you are making plans now, right? Especially since there's that music festival, Lolasomething, which means finding affordable accomodations will become increasing difficult closer to the event. These rates aren't static due to timing and local events. These are some suggestions, feel free to look around more: hotels near the airport will be much cheaper but are far away from everything else that will be happening (look at a map first).
Amber Inn: 3901S Michigan - $59/night during the week, $69/weeknights. It's in kind of a sketchy area, a sketchy hotel, but definitely available and close to most everything going on this weekend.
Ohio House Hotel: 600 N LaSalle - runs around $89/night
Hosteling International Chicago: 24 East Congress Parkway. Group rate - 10+ is $29/night
Chicago Getaway Hostel: 616 W Arlington Pl. Dorms range from $20 to $52 and private rooms range from $68 to $295. Group rates with groups over 15, but you have to fill out a form.
Chicago Parthenon Hostel: 310 S. Halsted St. Dorms are $26, private rooms $63
There are some B&Bs in the neighborhood too that are a little priceier and vary depending on the number of nights you stay.
Ruby Room: 1743 W Division
Ray's Bucktown B&B: 2144 N Leavitt
We have also heard great things about this rental service that allows you the rent apts from locals.
Also, we have plenty of nice bike friendly people who would like to share a couch/floor/guest bed with you. If you'd like to stay with a Chicago local, please email [email protected]. Note how many people you're traveling with and if you have any strong preferences, as in "I'm deathly alergic to cats," so we can fittingly set you up.
